Events Diary 2007Next year’s events calendar is developing nicely and I offer you the following to tempt you: Please contact the Event Coordinator concerned for full details of these events. Air Race SchoolThursday 29th to Friday 30th MarchNorth Weald Not strictly a club event, but I’m sure that BP&BC members would find a fascinating side to flying during this weekend. More information to follow, or you can contact your Commodore Roger Hayes. Beagle Pup First Flight 40th AnniversarySaturday 7th to Sunday 8th AprilShoreham Airport There will be a weekend event at Shoreham Airport to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first flight of the Beagle Pup. Of course you all know that the Pup was designed and built there, as was the first Bulldog, so it remains the spiritual home for our aircraft. The club is planning a fly-out on Sunday 8th April to mark the event. More details will be posted here as they are finalized. Imperial War Museum Fly-inSaturday 2nd JuneDuxford Airfield and Museum The club has organized a fly-in to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford. They have offered a deal of £7 landing fee and £7 for museum entry. We will be marshalled to our own parking area, have use of the pilot’s briefing room and free coffee. There will be a cockpit tour of a classic aircraft and DH Support will try to be available for members to visit them. Registry of intent is necessary but we’ll remind you in good time. RAF Cosford Museum fly-inProposed for Monday 6th AugustRAF Cosford Museum Museum entry is free but flying in to Cosford is not! The landing fee is £18, parking is £2.90, and there is an "admin" fee of £10. There are no fuel or facilities on the airfield, but a good restaurant at the museum. You will also need Crown Indemnity on your insurance policy to cover up to £7.5M. Registry of intent is needed but again, we'll remind you. Annual General Meeting & SymposiumSaturday 15th SeptemberSywell The 2007 Annual General Meeting will be at Sywell. Put it in your diaries now! The Aviator Hotel at Sywell has offered special deals in the past to club members staying over for the AGM, and a pleasant dinner in the art deco surroundings is very much a fixture in the club year. The afternoon speaker will be John Farley, test pilot and well known contributor to Flyer Magazine. Contact Alan Harris for more details |
